Padmé felt awful. She lay on her side, eyes half open, staring at a vase sitting upon a table on the other side of the room. She'd been awake most of the night, having to make what seemed like hourly trips to the fresher, gaining herself an hour's sleep at best. Everything hurt and she had a feeling it was going to be one of those days. And while she'd already experienced a day like she suspected this one to be at the start of her pregnancy, she hadn't intended to go through it again. Just her luck to be struck with a series of ailments on a day where no meetings or appearances had yet to be scheduled. At least she wouldn't have to come up with a decent excuse for her absence.
Bored with the sight of the vase and the wall behind it, Padmé rolled over onto her other side, groaning and shutting her eyes at the wave of nausea that coursed through her as she did so. If the nausea would subside, perhaps the other things bothering her wouldn't be so bad, but with backache, leg cramps, rib pain, tender breasts, and light-headedness on top of that, it was almost unbearable. She wished that Anakin had been able to stay the night with her, but at the same time, was glad for his absence, not wanting to be seen by anyone in this current state of being. It made her feel weak and miserable, and was one of the reasons she was still not all too thrilled about being pregnant.
Taking in a shaky breath, she rolled onto her back, keeping her eyes closed. She lay there for a moment, before shifting back to her previous position in direction of the vase. It seemed that was the angle she felt most comfortable in a the moment. She just wished Threepio would hurry and return from seeking out something to quell her stomach, but the droid, though obedient, was not as speedy as she wished he was at that moment. Her handmaidens had no knowledge of her pregnancy and she did not want to have to tell them while she was in this state of being, and sent Threepio out instead. It was easier to command of a droid who would obey without question than a group of handmaidens that would demand to know why their mistress was in such a miserable state. Though, a handmaiden would've been back by now.
She only hoped that no one would choose to bother her on today of all days. Padmé did not want to get out of bed, unless it was in response to the ever churning motions of her stomach. Unless it was Anakin or Threepio finally returning from his errand, she would see to no one.
